Some of the areas of instruction and mentoring are: *Understanding the use of money *How to market effectively *What it takes to be a good sales person *Why customer service is important *Adding value to their product or service *Why it is important to give back *The responsibilities of being in business

The project starts August 1st - August 31st The participating children work in team businesses and receive instruction, mentoring from Teenz-n-Biz and Adultz-n-Biz. Each Kidz-n-Biz participant is held accountable to their team business plan.

As an added incentive for the teams which participate, we are offering cash, prizes and gift certificates periodically during the summer. At the conclusion of the project we are offering a grand prize composed of the donations we receive and the t-shirts sold during the project.

We are in need of business sponsors in the following categories:

1.) Platinum Sponsors: For only $30, Platinum sponsors get their business logo, city and phone numbr on back of 100 Kidz-n-Biz t-thirts and their logo and phone number on back of 1,000 Kidz-n-Biz advertising cards plus mentions in our other promotion. Each Platimum sponsor also receives a Kidz-n-Biz t-shirt.

2.) Gold Sponsors: For only $20, Gold sponsors get either their business logo, city and phone number on back of 100 Kidz-n-biz t-shirts or their logo and phone number on back of 1,000 Kidz-n-Biz advertising cards. Each Gold sponsor also receives a Kidz-n-Biz t-shirt.

3.) Silver Sponsors: For only $10 , Silver sponsors receive a Kidz-n-Biz t-shirt fo their support

Hello Kidz-n-Biz,

I want to thank all of your for your participation in this year's Kidz-n-Biz Project. It has bee our joy to serve you and we hope you gained some valuable information that will help you as you pursue your passion for business.

For those of you who would like to seriously consider pursuing a business online that pays, I would love to have you join me giving away free websites. As you have already discovered, GDI has a serious marketing and pay plan that can help you earn money for college or even buy a house by the time you get out of high school.

Hey everyone!

Yesterday's lesson was about understanding money. Well, here are some interesting facts about money that you probably never knew about! Enjoy!

1. It costs the U.S. government 1.2 cents to make a 1-cent penny.

2. There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.

3. A Quarter has 119 grooves on its edge, one more than a dime.

4. A Penny weighs 2.5 grams which is the average weight of a humming bird.

5. All 50 states are listed across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of a $5 bill.

6. On an American one-dollar bill, there is an owl in the upper left-hand corner of the “1” encased in the “shield”. There is also a spider hidden in the front upper right-hand corner of the bill.

7. If you toss a penny 10,000 times, it will not be heads 50% of the time, but more like 49%. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom.

8. Money bills aren't made out of paper, it's made out of cotton.

9. Pocahontas appeared on the back of the $20 bill in 1875.

10. On the new hundred-dollar bill the time on the clock tower of Independence Hall is 4:10.

11. The biggest bill that exists is one for $100,000.

12. The US decided in 1782 that its basic unit of currency would be the Spanish dollar or peso. Its symbol was even then written as $, which was supposedly an ancient Phoenician sign indicating strength and sovereignty.

Hello All,
It has been a great blessing to be a part of Kidz-N-Biz this year. You are all blessed with the opportunity of having some dynamic speakers come in to impart their wisdom and knowledge in business to you in order to help you improve. This is a tangible example of what 'Paying it Forward' means. The speakers are aware that they have information that could make your experience better. Paying it forward is a selfless act but, it does not go without it's own rewards. If when you pay it forward, you do it with a genuine desire to help someone else have a better experience, God does not leave you out of the reward ceremony. Paying it forward is not a worldly idea. The concept comes directly from the Bible. Take a look at Ecclesiastes 11:1 and let me know what you found out about paying it forward. I bet your answer might just get some blog points added to your account. Remember, you are always blessed to be a blessing.

Taking your business to the next level

Hey everyone!

Even though there are only 3 days left in Kidz-n-Biz that doesn't mean you can't keep your business and improve it for the benefit of your costumers. Making your business better and more interesting can attract more costumers and make it easier for them to buy from you. For example:

* Having a online store. This way your costumers can see what products you are selling and if you want they can also buy products online and this way it's much more convenient for them.

* Having a shipping option. Maybe your costumer went to your store to find out that the item they wanted was out of stock, but when the item was available, for some reason they would be busy.

If they'd like, you could get their name and address, and when you get the item you could just ship it to them, and that way it would be more convenient for them. You could also include a shipping option in your online store.

* Advertising. When you advertise it doesn't mean you have to have an expensive TV commercial or a big, fancy billboard. As long as you can get your business name out there it's good enough.

You could go around the neighborhood and pass out fliers or even go door-to-door and tell people about your business. You could use the power of the internet and email friends and relatives and tell them about your business.

*Last of all you could have special events supporting charities and ministries.
For example, when people buy your products you could give 10% of every purchase to Salvation Army. That way people will buy your products because they know that they will also be helping the community.

2010 Kidz-n-Biz Project

For six days in August (16th-21st) 2010, the children who participate in this project learn key elements of running their own business.

Throughout the project each child will be able to receive special points that will help determine their eligibility to receive gifts, cash and other prizes at the end of the project. The 1st prize will be $250, the 2nd place prize is $150 and 3rd place prize is $100.

There is a one time registration fee of $10 which covers 5 full sessions of instruction, surprise gifts periodically during the sessions, a Kidz-n-Biz t-shirt, an opportunity to win one of the grand prizes up to $250 and the 6th session which is the celebration ceremony.

Our first contest, "Recruiting For Dollars" starts even before our session starts.

1. Once registered and you've paid your fee, you are eligible to participate

2. The kid who recruits the most paid registrants for Kidz-n-Biz will receive a surprise cash gift at our very fist session.
